History

STRACK DESIGN was founded in 1988 by Mr. Gerald Strack together with his wife Gabriele Strack.

In a small warehouse in Maria Loretto, the 28 year-old master stonemason began the manufacturing and finishing of kitchen countertops and specialized stone works. Huge investments were necessary to be able to offer bespoke treatments so the addition of the water jet cutting tool “WATERSTAR” (which was the first in Austria) was one of the first big investments. Then came the construction of our own production plant with office facilities followed by the purchase of the computer-controlled bridge saw “BREMBANA speed 3”. A very diverse and individualized product assortment was established that cannot be compared with other standardized stonemason works.

Well known companies such as BULTHAUP, POGGENPOHL and SIEMATIC, as well as private individuals around the globe, were among the ever-growing clientele. STRACK DESIGN soon had commissions in Boston, Monte Carlo and Monaco.

Today, the furnishing of private aircraft is part of STRACK DESIGN’s day-to-day business. For the interior of a VVIP jet, the ultra-thin natural stone panels are processed individually and according to aviation regulations, with a special sub-structure and a precision of 0.5 mm.

To further this highly specialized stonework, an expansion of the production plant was necessary as well as the purchase of a 5 axis waterjet cutter. Thus ensuring high quality into the future for this growing field of expertise.
